General Assembly
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is often described as the "Parliament of the World." It is the only UN body where all 193 Member States have equal representation, each with one vote.
It serves as a forum for multilateral discussion on the full spectrum of international issues covered by the UN Charter, such as peace and security, development, and human rights.
Every member state, regardless of its size or wealth, has an equal voice.
While its resolutions are generally not legally binding on member states (unlike Security Council decisions), they carry significant moral and political weight as the collective opinion of the international community.
