Chhota Nagpur Plateau is a plateau in eastern India.
The plateau covers most of the state of Jharkhand and adjacent parts of the states of Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
The total area of Chhota Nagpur Plateau is about 65000 sq km.
The average height of the plateau is 700 meters above sea level.
To the north and east of the plateau is the Gangetic plain, to the north is the Son river, and to the south is the Mahanadi basin.
Chotanagpur is a plateau known as 'Mineral Storehouse of India'
It is a center of mineral resources like mica, bauxite, copper, limestone, iron ore and coal.
