the leader of the Revolt of 1857 at Kanpur was Nana Saheb.
Nana Saheb, also known as Dhindora Rao Peshwa, was a prominent figure in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He was the adopted son of the Peshwa Baji Rao II and became one of the key leaders of the revolt in Kanpur (then known as Cawnpore).
After the British denied him the pension that was promised to him as the adopted son of the Peshwa, Nana Saheb became disillusioned with British rule and joined the uprising. He led the forces in Kanpur and initially captured the city, but after a series of battles with the British, he was forced to retreat. Nana Saheb's leadership in Kanpur is one of the most significant episodes of the 1857 revolt, which is often referred to as India's First War of Independence.
