Folk Dances of Haryana
In Haryana, dance is commonly referred to as Naach.
The state’s vibrant folklore and traditions are beautifully expressed through its folk dances.
Farmers organize various folk dances both before and after the harvest seasons.
For example, the Phag dance is performed during February and March to celebrate the harvest.
The Loor dance, popular in the Bangar and Bagr regions, is traditionally performed by girls during the Holi festival.
Similarly, the Khoria dance, which is performed exclusively by women, is well-known in central Haryana.
Another widely celebrated dance in the state is the Ras Leela, dedicated to Lord Krishna.
