The e-Shakti project, initiated by NABARD, is a pilot project aimed at digitising Self Help Groups (SHGs) for better financial inclusion and empowerment.
NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) launched the project E-Shakti for the digitization of all members of self-help groups in India.
The project aimed to digitize the data of around 3 crore members of Self Help Groups across the country.
E-Shakti helped in creating a comprehensive database of all the members of SHGs which helped in tracking their financial transactions and also provided them with easy access to credit facilities.
The project also aimed to improve the efficiency of the SHGs and make them more self-sustainable by providing them with necessary training and capacity building.
Overall, E-Shakti played a crucial role in promoting financial inclusion and empowering women in rural areas through the SHG model.
