The Salt Satyagraha in Kerala was led by K. Kelappan. He is also known as the "Kerala Gandhi".
On April 13, 1930, a group of Satyagrahis led by K. Kelappan set off on foot from Kozhikode to Payyannur and on April 21, they broke the Salt Law at Payyannur beach. This is an important chapter in the history of Kerala's freedom struggle. Muhammed Abdurahman and P. Krishna Pillai were also leaders who played important roles in the Salt Satyagraha.
