    Kerala High Court Assistant Eligibility Criteria 

    Educational Qualification

    Applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in Graduation or Post Graduation from any University in Kerala. Another eligibility criterion is a Law degree which is recognized by any University in Kerala. Knowledge of computer operations is desirable eligibility for this post.

    The age limit is 21-36. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for relaxation in this age range. The upper age relaxation is as follows

    The salary for a Kerala High Court Assistant is attractive and comes with several benefits.     Promotion Possibilities 

    Kerala High Court Assistants have various promotion opportunities, allowing for career growth within the judicial sector. Starting as an Assistant, individuals can advance to higher roles through departmental exams, experience, and performance. Here’s a typical promotion path:

    1. Senior Assistant: The first promotion, usually based on experience and performance.

    2. Section Officer: Manages specific sections of the court, with added administrative responsibilities.

    3. Court Officer/Chief Administrative Officer: Involves overseeing larger court functions and managing a team.

    4. Assistant Registrar: Focuses on the administrative aspects of court operations, including supervision and case management.

    Among these Assistant, Senior Grade Assistant, and Assistant Sectional Officers are group C position posts. Sectional Officer and Court Officer are Group B position posts. This position means Gazetted Officer. It takes years to reach the Group B position from the Group C position. Assistant Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Joint Registrar, and Registrars are Group A position posts. These are the highest positions that can be reached in the government service. It is one of the highest posts in government service.

    Selection Process 

    High Court Assistant Recruitment will have three phases.

    1. Objective Test

    2. Descriptive test

    3. Interview

    Objective Test

    The objective test is conducted for 100 marks. There will be questions from General English, General Knowledge, and Basic Mathematics. There will be 100 questions and each question will carry 1 mark for a correct answer and a negative ¼ mark for a wrong answer. The exam duration is 75 minutes. The type of questions given will be appropriate for those who have degree qualification. Candidates must secure 40% or more marks in this to be shortlisted to attend the interview.

    Descriptive test

    The descriptive test will start after the objective test. Here questions of 60 marks will be asked. The time allotted is 60 minutes. It will include short essays, comprehension exercises, and precise. The Descriptive Test does not have a cutoff score. Candidates have to complete Short Essays within the given time. Accurate time management and high proficiency in the English language are required to complete this step successfully

    Interview

    The interview will be conducted for 10 marks. Candidates must score at least 5% in this session to be included in the final rank list.
