Nicknamed the "Lion of Bombay" and the "Uncrowned King of Bombay", Pherozeshah Mehta was an activist, a political leader, and a lawyer in Bombay. He was one of the founders of the Indian National Congress and was chosen as the President of INC in 1890.
He worked towards achieving total political independance from Britain.
He is also known as the "Father of Bombay Municipality" as he drafted the Bombay Municipal Act of 1872.
