6th April 1919 was organised as National Humiliation day as a reaction to Rowlatt Act. Rowlatt Act was officially known as the Anarchical and Revolutionary Act,1919. It was passed in March 1919 by the Imperial Legislative Council. The Act gave the authority to the Britishers to detain anybody suspected of terrorist activities without any trials.
