B42 sq.cm

C51 sq.cm

D50 sq.cm

Answer:

B. 42 sq.cm

Read Explanation:

Given:

The area of a circle inscribed in a square is 154 cm2

Formula used:

Area of square = (side)2

The perimeter of the square = 4×side4\times{side}

Calculation:

Area of circle =154cm2= 154 cm^2

(Radius of circle)2 =154×722= 154\times{\frac{7}{22}}

Radius of circle = 7 cm

Diameter of circle =7×2= 7 \times{2}

⇒ 14 cm

As per figure,

Diameter of circle = side of a square

Side of a square = 14 cm

Area of square=14×14 = 14\times{14}

⇒ 196 sq cm

Area of shaded region = 196 - 154

⇒ 42 sq.cm

∴ The Area of shaded region is 42 sq.cm.
