The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) 10th Level Preliminary Examination is the qualifying test for candidates holding SSLC (10th standard) qualification. This common preliminary exam enables candidates to compete for various Group-C and other posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Last Grade Servant (LGS), Office Attendant, Field Assistant, Laboratory Assistant and similar jobs across Kerala. The cut-off marks determine which candidates are eligible to move forward to the next stage (main exam or selection list).
A cut-off mark is the minimum score a candidate must obtain in the 10th Level Preliminary Examination to qualify for the next recruitment stage. This is not a fixed mark for all posts — it varies by category, post, and district based on:
Number of vacancies
Number of applicants
Difficulty level of the question paper
Reservation norms
The Commission publishes separate cut-offs for each category number when the shortlist/eligibility list is released.
👉 To know when the shortlist is expected, check the Kerala PSC 10th Level Exam Date 2026 page.

Once the cut-off for each category and post is determined:
Eligibility List: Candidates scoring equal to or above the cut-off are shortlisted for the main examination or included in the eligibility list.
Shortlist Publication: The eligibility list, along with Register Numbers of qualifying candidates, is published on the Kerala PSC official site.
Next Stage: Shortlisted candidates can sit for the mains exam or be considered for further rounds as per recruitment rules.
Cut-offs may also reflect reservation criteria, where marks required for SC, ST, OBC, and other categories differ to ensure representation.
👉 Refer to the Kerala PSC 10th Level Notification Details page for post-wise selection procedures.
Cut-offs change every year; past marks are only indicative and not guaranteed for future exams.
The competitive landscape (number of candidates, vacancies) significantly influences cut-off trends.
Higher cut-off marks usually appear in higher-competition posts (like Field Assistant or Secretariat Office Attendant) compared to less competitive categories.
