The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) Category I December 2025 notification was officially released on December 22, 2025. Online applications for the examination were accepted from December 22, 2025, to January 7, 2026, through the official KTET portal. Thousands of aspiring teachers applied for the examination during this period.
Passed Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks.
SC/ST and differently abled candidates are eligible with minimum 40% marks.
Completed a 2-year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by the Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala.
Completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) recognized by NCTE.

A total of 1,55,361 candidates appeared for the examination across all four categories, out of which 91,964 candidates successfully qualified.
Category-wise Performance:
Category I: 33,935 candidates appeared, and 19,813 qualified.
Category II: 51,679 candidates appeared, and 34,164 qualified.
Category III: 53,467 candidates appeared, and 30,994 qualified.
Category IV: 16,280 candidates appeared, and 6,993 qualified.
The highest pass percentage was recorded in Category II, where nearly two-thirds of the candidates cleared the examination. In comparison, Category IV registered the lowest pass percentage.
Candidates who have qualified in the KTET examination become eligible to apply for teaching positions in schools across Kerala. The official scorecards and certificates can be downloaded through the KTET portal. Candidates who have not qualified may appear for future KTET examinations to improve their eligibility for teaching appointments.
