The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the Kerala Pareeksha Board (KPB). It's a mandatory qualification for anyone aspiring to teach in government or government-aided schools in Kerala. KTET-I is specifically designed for those who wish to teach classes 1 to 5.
The last date to apply for the November 2024 KTET-I exam has been extended to November 25, 2024, 5:00 PM. Initially, the application process was scheduled to close on November 20, 2024, but the authorities have decided to provide additional time to ensure that more aspiring candidates can complete their submissions without any last-minute challenges
Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks (for SC/ST and differently-abled candidates, a relaxation of 5% is allowed).
Along with the above qualification, candidates must have either:
Completed a 2-year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by the Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala.
Completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) recognized by NCTE.
The application fee for the examination is set at Rs. 500 (Rupees Five Hundred) for all categories, while candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories and those with disabilities are required to pay a reduced fee of ₹250 (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty)
