The KTET Category 1 exam is a 2.5-hour test comprising 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. The exam is divided into three main sections:

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy (30 marks): This section evaluates the understanding of child psychology, teaching methods, and pedagogical strategies that are essential for teaching Primary class students.

  2. Language I (Malayalam, Kannada, or Tamil) (30 marks): Candidates can choose one of these languages, with the questions assessing language proficiency, comprehension, and grammar skills.

  3. Language II (English) (30 marks): This section focuses on basic English language skills, including vocabulary, sentence formation, and reading comprehension.
