The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CGL recruitment in multiple stages to select candidates for various Central Government departments and ministries. Candidates must clear each stage of the selection process to get final appointment.
The first stage of the SSC CGL selection process is the Tier 1 Examination. It is a Computer Based Test conducted for all applicants. Candidates who qualify in Tier 1 will become eligible for the next stage of recruitment.
Candidates who clear Tier 1 will be called for the Tier 2 Examination. This is the main stage of the recruitment process and plays an important role in final selection. Different papers in Tier 2 are conducted based on the post selected by the candidate.
For some posts, candidates must also attend a Skill Test or Data Entry Speed Test. These tests are qualifying in nature and are conducted for specific departments and positions.
Candidates who successfully clear all examination stages will be called for Document Verification. During this process, SSC verifies educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other important documents submitted by the candidate.
