The preliminary examination for the Excise Inspector post is part of the common degree-level screening process. It is scheduled to be held in three phases to accommodate the high volume of candidates.
Preliminary Phase 1: May 2, 2026 (Saturday)
Preliminary Phase 2: May 16, 2026 (Saturday)
Preliminary Phase 3: June 6,2026
Exam Time: 1:30 PM to 3:05 PM
Main Examination: Expected to take place between August and October 2026.

Admission Tickets: Available for download from your PSC Thulasi profile starting April 18, 2026 (for Phase 1) ,May 2, 2026 (for Phase 2) and May 23 (for third phase)
Confirmation: Only candidates who completed the mandatory confirmation between February 27 and March 18, 2026, will be issued hall tickets.
Exam Center: You will be assigned a center in the district associated with your communication address in your profile.
Pattern: 100 Objective Questions (OMR/Online). The duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Language: Parts 1 and 2 (GK, Current Affairs, etc.) are available in English and Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada. Part 4 is specifically for the mother tongue.
